Boy...did I mess up Valentine's Day. I had it all figured out a couple
of days earlier...then POOF...gone! See, the problem is that I can't right
now get around by myself and drive and shop, etc. Sooo....the other day, while
Goober was outside, I called a florist and ordered a huge Valentine display with
roses and other "pretties" (I don't know flowers, OK?) and I gave the florist
a bunch of "mushy words" to put on the card...(and the bad thing was,
it was a guy on the other end of the phone!)...Done. They don't deliver
way out here in Murtaugh but I said "no problem", we'll stop in Thursday
while in town and pick it up...I could see Goober's smile already. Howsoever,...this
is where the plot thickens. Right after my program, I hurriedly changed my clothes...
"hurriedly" in my case means like 3 hours....and we "jumped" in my truck and off
to Twin Falls we go. We had numerous errands to run, including a visit to the doctor,
and then I had it planned, we drive by this particular florist, I'd yell
"stop!" and she'd be presented with her Valentine "Lovie!" We finished at the doctor's,
and we were both thirsty, so we stopped at McD's for some new fangled Chocolate
Covered Strawberry Whipped Cream beverage...which wasn't as good as it looked
on TV, (yes, it was! Goober) and then headed home. Goober even asked
me which way would be best to get outa' Twin and I, of course, said - "Go down Kimberly
Road, Dear", knowing we'd only be a block from the florist. Well, readers,
I was "engrossed" in my Slurpee and my feeble thoughts and all of a sudden....(25
miles out of Twin!) I screamed "DAMN!!!!" This shocking, loud
verbiage frightened Goober bad enough to almost take out two power poles and a mailbox
with a Santa still on top! With tears in her eyes she guided my ton truck back
into the correct lane, she said "What is the matter with YOU?!?!?"...that's
not a fair question. If you took a survey, I'm sure you'd get mixed and
varied answers. However, at this particular time I tried to explain how
I forgot her Valentine's Day gift and tell her how sorry I was. With clenched teeth,
veins standing out on her neck and her hands on the wheel in the "safe" 10 & 2 position,
she stated very clearly to me, "Never to yell like
that again when I am driving!"...After a few moments of musing on what she
said – it made sense. I'm healing up from surgery, I like my life and I
enjoy my truck, therefore "yelling" will not be an option because of possibly ending
up in the middle of a 120 acre muddy field...Happy Valentine's Day – Goober!
Unbelievable! Afghanistan President Hamid Karzai has accepted over $90 BILLION
in aid to his country from us AND we've done all the fighting
for his country for 14 years with extreme loss of OUR young
men and women in our military...and he spits in our eye! This little weasel of
a "man" has just turned loose 65 confirmed terrorists that WE
helped capture. They, the terrorists have American blood on their hands...and Karzai
turns them loose in a show of good faith to the Taliban!!! I'm outraged
and soooo upset that Obama did or said nothing! Readers, I submit
to you, that OUR Special Forces should right now, with their
vast intelligence services, be "collecting" each and every released terrorist...and
make sure they never "bow to the east" again...Comprende?!
