"Stay on the Main Road and you won't get lost!" I remember my Mother
telling me that, the first time I drove alone to a friend's house. I did stay on
the Main Road even though some of the intersections "looked like"
they would provide a shorter route. WOW!...Mom's words are coming back to me this
week when I listen and look at the mess our country is in. Simply put, we've
turned at too many intersections...(mostly to the left!) and we've got off the Main
Road and we're lost! The United States has known where it was going and
how to get there for over 250 years....but now we've definitely taken a "wrong
turn". Electing Barack Obama in 2008 was one of the first wrong left turns off
our "Main Road". Then, following him to various "intersections" of energy, the
economy, national security and Constitutional issues we unfortunately have taken
severe left turns and we're becoming lost without a map to find our way.
When Mom said "stay on the Main Road and you won't get lost" there was more meant
than just driving to play basketball. My Mother's words were meant to guide me
through life. When we stay on the MAIN ROAD we are
on the way to a successful end. When we turn left at the intersections in life,
that's when we get in trouble with our morals, our money and our relationships...Mom
should have known Obama. Maybe she could have provided insight for him to see America
as THE BEST COUNTRY in the world. Maybe she could have persuaded
him to stay on the "Main Road" to achieve an energy program that would put America
back on its feet and grow in prosperity. Maybe Mom could have sternly told him
to never back up, but stand firm and earn the respect of your enemies...stay on
the Main Road! Maybe Mom could have wagged her finger in his face and TOLD
him that his left turns were destroying America!...YUP...when
Mom said stay on the Main Road – she was right! I honestly don't think there's
a road map big enough or that easy to read that this president will ever
find the Main Road – not unless all of his left turns finally lead him back
to reality!
We are only a little more than 6 weeks away from the midterm elections in
November... very important elections! And yet...I doubt that the voting
percentages will exceed 35% turnout...disgusting! Then, the day after, all the "Coffee Shop Crybabies" will be wailing
and bemoaning the fact that their candidate didn't win... and they,
the "Coffee Shop Crybabies", probably didn't go vote! What is the matter with
US? Why can't we accept the responsibility to be good, conscientious
citizens and honor the blood, sweat and tears of our forefathers and go VOTE!
Don't give me the excuses of "my dog peed on the floor and I spent all day cleaning
it up!" What?? Your dogs got the bladder of an elephant??! Or...OOOH,
I had a cramp in my big toe, it hurt too much to go to the polls!...meanwhile 30
Veterans in wheelchairs or on crutches found a way to GO VOTE!
I'm sick of excuses. I'm sick of people not being good citizens! If this note
offends any of my readers, and they feel indignation at me...that's tough!
Call me after 8 PM on November 4th....call me after you've voted!
