It's my birthday. It's a crisp fall day....I feel much older,....did
I mention it's my birthday? WOW, as I think back on all the past birthdays, I'm
really lucky to be celebrating another one. When I look at my ole', fat,
scarred body, there's a remembrance for all of my birthdays. I remember the "birthdays"
after I came down with polio...those were some tough times for the whole family.
I remember the "birthdays" while I was I was in college...well, maybe I'll skip
over those to be safe! I remember the "birthdays" after Goober and I got married
and after the kids were born, lots of memories and candles. And now...as I'm in
the "antique" years, I really cherish the "birthdays" with Deanne just sitting,
remembering and appreciating. This morning while I was on the air, many dear friends
dropped by my studio to extend Birthday Greetings and many more called all through
the day...I've been blessed. It's been a great birthday.
White House Security is lacking, the Secret Service is in disarray. Some "loon"
jumps the fence, scampers across the lawn and gets into an unlocked White House
and takes himself on a "tour" before finally being subdued....what? This
can't happen but, with the "breakdowns" in this administration, it IS
believable. The solution is very simple – HIRE COWBOYS. I absolutely,
positively guarantee that if the White House Security staff were all big,
burly, eat raw meat, knuckle-draggin' bulldoggers – there wouldn't be a problem.
I shudder to think what would happen to an intruder if these guys got their paws
on the "bad people" oooh...ugly! You put 20 of these guys on duty, you can leave
the doors open and the windows up – NOBODY is gonna knock
on the door! They're tough, that's their lifestyle and they have an attitude. Too
bad this country doesn't have that "attitude" - we'd all be better off!
They tell us
not to be worried. They tell us the problem is
minimal. They tell us the risk and chance of infection is "microscopic"....That's
what they tell us about the Ebola breakout. Me?....I'm very skeptical when
someone tells me not to worry...then I really worry! I think the Ebola risk
is very dangerous. I think all of us need to be very precautionary, and I think
we all need to be informed – not by the government, but through our own study
and questions to find out the "facts" for ourselves. Any risk or disease is "minimal"
until it happens to you! Gather all the information you can – knowledge creates
safety ----BE SAFE!
