I couldn't sleep last night. I got up and went to my "Geezer" chair
and turned on the TV. After flipping through the channels, I settled on the ol'
shoot 'em up bang bang western channel. The movie playing was a really old Buster
Crabbe western...and it was really.....bad. The acting was really "bad"....but
after four hours of meetings and a long drive home this morning, the movie was pretty
good! Huh??? Yup...here's why. First off there wasn't even a "darn" said in the
whole "hoss opera", a lot different than the blue language of today! Second,
there were lots of gunfights and bullets hitting rocks, tin pans and trees, but
only one "bad guy" got nicked in the shoulder---instead of all the blood, guts and
gore of today's flicks. And when the hero (Buster Crabbe) got surrounded by 8,...yes,
8 bad guys...ol' Buster held 'em off with a Colt revolver that never needed
reloading!!...you can't find guns like that today! An' boy howdy were there ever
some fight scenes...whew! Chairs over the head, dish pans to the face, multiple
slam, bam, pow punches to the jaw and when it was all over, neither the bad
guys or ol' Buster had a mark on 'em...those were the days! The reason I bring
this up is simple. Back in those times, good defeated bad, right was right
and wrong took a whippin'!....then the movie ended and I switched over to catch
the news. The Ebola scare, missing co-eds, ISIS terrorism, graft and corruption
in major businesses, lying and cheating in politics and 6'8", 285 pound behemoths
beating up their 5'2", 115 pound girlfriends! Bring back the old reruns of Cheyenne
Bodie, Sugarfoot and Tales of Wells Fargo. Please let my TV overload on Rin Tin
Tin lapping at Corporal Rusty's cheek! Or let me enjoy Roy and Dale on Trigger
and Buttermilk outrun Pat Brady's jeep, Nellybelle, in a chase for the "bad
guys"! We were better off then and our minds weren't cluttered with
sick, perverted violence, blood, gore and filthy language...Yup, THAT
was a good movie!
The mayor of Houston, Texas is a lesbian. So, she wants to subpoena all
the pastor's sermons from the Houston area – read them – and say yes or no
to the content! I'm not kidding. The gays, lesbians and transgenders (the ones
with constipation 'cause they can't figure out which bathroom to use) are
making a full court press to make it illegal for pastors to preach a sermon
regarding the sinfulness of their lifestyle! They say its hate speech
and must be stopped! Their "sin" is mentioned over 27 times in the Bible as being
abhorrent and detestable...an aberration to mankind. It is. But these folks say
that God loves them just the way they are....no repentance necessary.
Sick. Today, if you believe like I do, that marriage should be
between a man and woman only, that God does not make mistakes,
so therefore transgenderism is pathetically stupid, AND...we're
all sinners so let's "hit our knees" to ask for forgiveness....unless
we confess and change back to the basics of faith and right and wrong....our nation is in trouble! Pastors....never weaken or lose your 1st Amendment
rights of free speech and preaching God's word (all of them!!). Have
the backbone to stand up on the pulpit for what's right and condemn what's wrong!
If you lose spirit or fail in courage....so goes the church! Be strong....and....no
more turning the other cheek!
