Do you have a list of "items" that, when they occur,...YOU
are offended! You're outraged...you're exasperated...why...why...you
ARE insulted!! Yeah, right...I'm sure. I know many
people are "offended" by me every day on my radio program. When you have an "opinion"
talk show (and I do have opinions!) I'm going to rub some folksies the wrong
way – can't be helped, AND IT SHOULDN'T BE! I'm trying
to stimulate thought and reaction to various subjects...so that maybe,
just maybe...some folks will get involved and work for change. If
some folks run to a corner and cry "Boo-hoo", that mean Zeb Bell hurt my feelings...that's
not gonna stop ME from getting a good night's sleep!
GROW UP! Anybody can be offended by anything or any circumstance
and NO ONE can live in a "Do Not Offend Me Zone!"
If I offend the perverted gay rights movement, the Muslims, certain politicians,
the open-border crowd, the Forest Service or the BLM, the "knuckle draggers" with
animal rights groups, tree hugging really "dumb" environmentalists, Dr. Spock-ish
types that let children rule the roost AND liberals in general....my
day is complete...mission accomplished.
What did those cowboys
do all winter long stuck in a line shack??...Snow
"yaydeep" to a tall Indian, freezin' temperatures and NO phone,
internet or ESPN! And by mid-January Ole Buster and "Rimrock Red" are about to
unload their "45's" into each other! An' can you imagine havin' the "screamin'
hurry ups" at midnite only to have to break a trail to the "Halfmoon Hotel" in 3
feet of snow!....What in the name of modern times are we gripin' about?? Okay,
okay I've got cabin fever, I hate snow and the doggone ice keeps me in a constant
"pucker" - -where am I gonna slip and crash next! An' poor Goober's about "choked
the canary"-- she's SO sick of me underfoot! The other day as
I gazed into her eyes, I swear I saw the reflection of a coffin with my name of
it!.....we need to get away....but.....at this current time....I'm not sure
we should go together! Certain news stories seem to gain her attention....especially
those that mention key words like kill, overboard, poison and body not yet found...they
seem to put a smile on her face! Occasionally, I'll suggest we jump in the
pickup for a ride to the general store....(it's a half mile away....) for something
to do, and I get a glossary of terminology about my cheapness and
my ancestors...takes the fun out of the "trip"! But lo...it won't be long and we'll
be headed out the back door to enjoy the beauty of spring with the winds blowin'
90 mph and mud deep enough to bury a Volkswagen!...Wonder what kind of mood my gal
will be in then?
Did you see or read about the two "Mountain Climbers" that climbed up the face of
Yosemite's El Capitan?? WOW... it took 19 days to climb
hand over hand, up, up...3000 feet! WOW! And then...at night
you crawl into a tent suspended by "a nail" thousands of feet above the valley and
you settle in for a "good night's rest"...WOW!...Question – If
you're a sleep walker...what do you do? And...for bodily functions how does one
get up and go to the bathroom? I would imagine that flushing is NOT
an option!...WOW!
Don't forget Dr-History.com! Exciting episodes of the old West!! Now in 85 countries...85!!
And not one of them has said they're offended!
