I didn't serve in the Military. However, if you can find someone that is more caring and helpful AND treats all Military Members with MORE respect than me...keep looking. Our Military Men and Women have my gracious thanks for keeping me and my family safe and secure and I'm "Cowboy Proud" of what they do for America. But, there's always a "rattler in the sagebrush" somewhere, and that's true of Idaho's U.S. Army Sergeant Bowe Bergdahl. Bergdahl didn't want to play by Army rules any longer in 2009, so he sent his personal items home, and left his base camp in Afghanistan and was "captured" by the Taliban for five years. Alas, along comes "Lone Ranger" Obama and his trusty sidekick, "Tonto" Kerry and with their disdain for Guantanamo Bay and their stupid politics of wanting to move all the terrorist vermin to U.S. Federal prisons – they hatch a plan. They decide to "swap" 5 really bad guys – some of the Taliban's worst, for good ole deserter Bowe,...oh, this was real smart. Five of the worst "minds" of terror that would as soon slit your throat as open a can of beans, would be released and we in turn get back a soldier that deserted his post, endangered his fellow soldiers and hated America! Great trade.... Yesterday the U.S. Army said that they will pursue the desertion charges and there may possibly be charges of treason,...Bowe Bergdahl has not been nor will ever be a person to look up to and respect. Nor in my opinion is Barack Obama. He "used" the Bergdahl situation for a photo op and political gain...I have no respect for that type of "leadership". God Bless the "Good Guys and Gals" of our United States Military...But...damn the names of those that put them asunder.

The other day, last Sunday, was a good day for me. I got back on a horse. Since the problems with my knee and hip and then, heart attack....I was beginning to wonder if I'd hear the creak of saddle leather again. I had a little difficulty getting on, probably looked like an armadillo playing with a Volkswagen (understand??)...oh, well, I made it thanks to Goober's pushing at the right moment. Once on...fantastic, it felt great...and I'm looking forward to roping this summer, that is my goal. Remember, never quit, never give up and think of what John Wayne said... "Courage is being scared to death, but saddling up anyway!" Adios!!
