With all the very
bad news happening every day....I had
to stop, take a deep breath and slowly look around me. I really wanted to
find something good, wholesome and refreshing to write about this week...WOW,
it was tough - - then it hit me...friends...yup...FRIENDS.
I've been SO blessed with friends that when needed, are there in
a heartbeat. If I started to name my friends, I couldn't because of the vast number
of people that have benefitted my life over the years. Friends that have helped
me attain and achieve huge success in the rodeo business, my radio show and in real
estate. Friends that gave of their time and expertise to help me, show me and teach
me what might be the best way to succeed. Friends, that at my low points, were always
there to confide in and lift me up, kick me in the posterior and get me going again.
Friends that I could share an adult beverage with and friends that we could pray
with... FRIENDS...and I believe we all, at times, take them for
granted or don't really appreciate what they do for US.
To all of my friends, from years gone by to right now...thank you and God bless
you...you know who you are! As of late, with the health problems I've developed,
there IS one particular friend that I want to thank...his
name is Jesus. Thank you, my friend, for being there 24-7,365, thank you for nudging
me to do right and frowning at me what I do wrong. Thank you for helping me stand
up tall for what I believe in and giving me the courage to keep going forward
even though...it hurts. Thank you for helping me to try to be a little better every
day...and thank you for forgiving me in the past when I made many stupid choices.
You are a friend that's always there to "talk" to me and with a little consultation...help
me make the right decision. The song has said it for decades... "What a friend
we have in Jesus"...how true...thank YOU, my friend!
Summer is half over...what have you left undone? For me, it's simple.
I love to sit by a mountain stream or go fishing and just leave the pole alone –
if the fish wants that bait...come and get it...otherwise, let me nap. I love (thanks
to Goober) watching hummingbirds. I really enjoy a dish of ice cream with strawberry
jam, a cold "Red" beer at 5 o'clock is very refreshing, and sitting in a Cabala's
lounge chair after dark watching the stars is "darn good". I love summer...don't
let it pass without doing what you want to do – ENJOY!
