Doggone it...same dates! Both my 50th high school reunion in Wisconsin AND the Idaho Rodeo Hall of Fame fell on the same August weekend...doggone it. I really had wanted to go back home and see and visit classmates I had not seen for 50 YEARS!!...Holy make-up artists, "what" we look like now!! I was a very "lazy" student at Fort Atkinson High School...if I could "slide by" on barely passing grades...so be it...let the good times roll! I was not a memorable pupil. I went to class, sat in class and at the bell...left!....Poster boy for great learning huh? However, I honestly believe it was all part of God's plan. After high school, I took some courses at Whitewater State University and some classes through the University of Wisconsin at Madison – waste of time, waste of money...I was a waste! I went to work making lithographic plates for printing presses and stayed at the boring, no brains necessary job for over a year. Then God said enoughyou are going to follow my plan. The condensed version is this – I received some information on becoming an announcer and broadcast journalist, I signed up, moved to Minneapolis, graduated second in my class, took a job at KLIX Radio in Twin Falls, Idaho in 1969 and...here I am...WOW!! But dear reader, here's the really interesting part of God's plan that my former high school classmates probably would never swallow about "ME". From plain ole' below average student, I've announced almost every major equine event in the world, from the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta to 6 times announcer at the National Finals Rodeo, from the World Equestrian Games in Jerez, Spain to over 30 years as announcer of the AQHA World Show. I've had 2 successful TV shows, a very successful radio career and above all, I've been married to the same beautiful wife, Deanne, for 44 years. My God-Given talent was my voice that landed me TV commercial work and many parts in various movies. I have been so blessed...even though there have been many big boulders in the trail. From polio to a plane crash, numerous horse accidents to a heart attack – following God's plan has been quite a ride! So...for me to go to a reunion and have someone say, "Well, Zeb, what have you done for the last 50 years??""...I wouldn't know where to start! I am in the process of writing a book about all the "wild and woolly" stories that actually have happened in my life and the book's title sums up my 67 years and gives tribute to my favorite animal...the horse. "Horses...took me for a ride!", will be finished this winter and I hope folks will appreciate how I've been blessed and hopefully an inspiration to others! Finally, to all my former schoolmates – God Bless you and maybe someday we can sit down, get comfortable an' visit about the old days...just give me a lil' time!

Go to church this Sunday – sing the songs – listen to the sermon – put some $ in the collection plate and I'll guarantee you when you walk out the door – you'll feel like a million bucks – God Bless!

Don't forget Dr-History.com! Exciting episodes of the old West!! Now in 101 countries...101!! And not one of them has said they're offended!
