2015 is done – finished – adios....WHEW!! Thank the
Good Lord – we made it! It was a tough year. God's Word tells us that he'll
never give us more than we can handle...but I've got to admit, there was a time
or two I said "Dear Jesus, I think my bucket is full!" From health problems to
horse problems it seemed like every week I was duckin' a left cross only
to get hit with a right hook! Last January I had a heart attack, then on Palm Sunday
a "mini" stroke, add to that some horses decided to have a fond dislike for
me and tore my insides up trying to buck me off! Then to put some spice in my life,
in July I fractured my hip ropin' on my old mare and two weeks later had an orthopedic
surgeon tell me I needed to have both shoulders replaced......I was beginning
to get into a "bad mood!!" AND THEN....I tore the retina in my
left eye and started "seeing" extra-terrestrial beings....still do....weird
little buggers! Then to put frosting on the cake, Goober had some issues that scared
both of us! But whoa up, Dear Reader,...all of this actually helped
our faith AND drew Goober and I closer than ever!
It is absolutely the truth that I AM blessed....sooo
blessed to have her as my wife and best friend. When I'd fall into one of my "lower
than a snake's belly" attitudes, Goober would literally (at times) punch me back
to reality and common sense. In the book of Proverbs, Chapter 24 verse 10 we're
told that "You are a poor specimen if you can't stand the pressure of adversity"....Okay,
Lord....with your help – bring it on life – we'll handle it!!
I honestly believe Jesus is my and your strength – don't weaken, never quit
and NEVER give up!!! God Bless You in 2016.
Christmas was great this year, I even enjoyed...shopping! Man, I saddled up one
of those "Geezer Steeds" and up one aisle and down the other – pitchin' and throwin'
gifts in the basket like there was no tomorrow! But upon driving up to the checkout
stand and getting the bill for my "Wild Ride"....it really had a sobering effect
on my lil' plastic card!!!!...But hey! It's Christmas. Let me haul this load out
to the truck so I can come back and enjoy "giving" a lot more!! I love Christmas!
Don't forget Dr-History.com! Exciting episodes of the old West!! Now in 110 countries...110!!
And not one of them has said they're offended!
GOD BLESS AMERICA!
Our Pledge
of Allegiance:
I pledge Allegiance to the flag
of the United States of America
and to the Republic for which it stands,
one nation under God, indivisible,
with Liberty and Justice for all.
Dear Lord: Please Bless and heal this land with your grace and power.
Help us to realize YOU are in charge as you were, as you are
now and like
you'll be in the future. Forgive us for "straying off the trail" of what's
right
and what's wrong and help us to appreciate what you've blessed us with,
the greatest Country in the world...America!
In Jesus Name.....Amen
