108 years...108 years! 108 spring trainings, 108 long seasons, most of them at .500 or below! 108 long winters with "wait 'til next year"! THIS was next year!!! My beloved Chicago Cubs have just won the 2016 WORLD SERIES!!!!! Oh yeah!! I pranced and danced (didn't think I could – did ya!?) and yelled and fist pumped, scared the dog and the neighbors lights went on!..the Cubs won!

This World Series had the toughness, the grit, the determination by both teams, the Cubs and the Indians. Neither team would give up and neither team was accepting of "2nd place"...the American Way! But above all the hard slides, the "brush back" pitches and stolen bases, there was a common thread of really great sportsmanship. Players from both teams helping the opposing player back to his feet after a "wipe out" try at second base or the acknowledgment of a fantastic catch in the outfield with a tip of the cap!

I didn't just like this World Series, I loved it! It was...us...the way we used to be. We used to fight like cats and dogs over issues, but woe betide the persons or country that would step into break us up! WE had a bonding that told the world "Yup, we do argue and spat, but don't YOU interfere because WE will come after you like a junkyard dog"!! We've lost that!

A rain delay stopped Game 7 of the World Series for 17 minutes. Inside the Cub locker room, David Ross and Jason Hayward looked at their team, sitting on benches forlorn and...beaten. The Indians had come back to tie the game and had the big word "MOMENTUM" on their side...the Cubs were shell shocked. Ross and Hayward stood up and just gazed around the room gaining their teammates attention by not saying anything...until Hayward slammed his fist against a locker and told them they were going to win, they were going to prevail! Ross at 40, the oldest player in the Majors, with tears in his eyes told his team...some young enough to be his sons!...this is your defining moment to win..or to lose...again!

The Cubs about ripped off the locker room doors as they headed out to win the Series Game 7. Attitude..yes, sir...ATTITUDE can and will outplay, out hustle and win over anyone or any team regardless of talent. The Cubs won...and America won...this game clearly showed the strong robust strength WE used to have, and CAN have again if we start "beating a fist into a locker"! I was so proud the Cubs won...I cried...if felt good! I'd like to feel that again for our great country...the United States of America!

As a postscript, I watched the Cubs parade and the teams "Thank You" to the fans...it was so nice. Multimillion dollar ballplayers humbly thanking the millions that turned out to line the downtown streets of Chicago, some that probably don't make enough to spare their tight budgets for ticket money! But they loved the Cubs and the Cubs love them!...must be raining, my eyes are wet!

Don't forget Dr-History.com! Exciting episodes of the old West!! Now in 110 countries...110!! And not one of them have said they're offended!

GOD BLESS AMERICA!

Our Pledge of Allegiance:

Dear Lord: Please Bless and heal this land with your grace and power.
Help us to realize YOU are in charge as you were, as you are now and like
you'll be in the future. Forgive us for "straying off the trail" of what's right

the greatest Country in the world...America!
In Jesus Name.....Amen
