"Quick Shots"
The odds look really good...it's going to be train wreck!... "Murphy's Law" - just when you start to smile, a bug's going to fly in your mouth! Yesterday was a great example of "Yeah Buddy, things are going great!"...and then the wheels fell off! Healthy cattle, needed to "tip" the horns on some and cut off the horns on some others - - - all went well – then one of my best steers just tipped over and "mooed" his last rites! You can have horseshoes stay on your horse for longer than 8 weeks and then the day after you re-shoe...he'll lose one.
Tuesday I worked my arena for our annual Easter "after church after dinner" roping and then...it's rained for the last 2 days! I recently bought a new pair of boots (too many), and then after walking in them for a bit, I would rather try my luck at transporting myself over a bed of nails! Goober and I can plan a really nice ride into the mountains on our 4-wheelers, only to have dead batteries at our departure!...Murphy's Law.
This is Easter Weekend and I'm writing this "Cowpies" on Good Friday morning. Later today, we will attend a very solemn church service in honor and remembrance of Jesus' crucifixion. After 69 Good Friday services, I always walk out of church with a feeling of guilt and wonder...how can I be so fortunate to have Jesus die for my sins? It's very humbling. Then, on Easter morning we will go to the sunrise service and a feeling of excitement and freshness fills the air with the knowing that Christ is risen and there is hope and eternal life for all of us!
We're going to sit down to Easter dinner as a total family this year. Jobs, distance, whatever has not allowed us to be "together" the last few Easters – so – this one is VERY special. God Bless all of you and have a Blessed Easter!
