The political winds are starting to blow...we are not far from being deluged with a media blitz of ads for politicians re-running or for "Newbies" getting in the fray. But whoa!...I must admit right here that with all the rancor and supposed disgust and eye rolling statements and jaw dropping sound bites...I love this "stuff!!" Pre-election hype and platitudes, devious and mischievous campaigns provide me a "bubbly can't wait attitude" to see WHO will emerge at the top of the heap. We, here in Southern Idaho, are blessed (with some very conscientious, caring Representatives and Senators and I hope they retain their positions. These public servants have proven leadership qualities and they have stood firm against some NRB movements...(Not Real Bright) to derail legislation that really benefits the economy and people of our State. Now hold on... with that being said, I think its great for fresh faces and new voices to "jump in" the political "fire" and try to really define and pinpoint the angles of all issues. On the other hand...lets talk about you and me...the voters – we're not doing our job. We bellyache and whine at the coffee shop or complain to whomever will listen about our politicians... BUT...those same gripers may not have voted! It boggles my mind, how anyone can yell, scream and holler about a political defeat or a candidate victory when they never took the time and effort to be an American Patriotric Citizen and....vote. I remember walking into a local cafe after Barack Obama was elected in 2008. I knew most of the people seated at the table next to me and one very "vocal" leader of the group was railing on and on about how we could be so dumb to elect Obama as president! This "megaphone" went on for at least 10 minutes and finally I had to ask him and his "lemmings"...Did you vote?? "Mr. Mouthpiece" and three others at the table said...NO...no, that's the problem. These crying wannabees didn't take the initiative to be good Americans and go vote...but they're excellent at complaining – go change their diapers. Simply put...if you don't vote, keep your mouth shut – you have given up your right to have a complaint or spew your opinion. We are lucky to get a voter turnout of MAYBE around 20% in the mid-term election, and maybe higher for Presidential years...despicable. The democrats are doing all they can to provide voting rights to people that should not be here...illegal aliens...and we, the citizens of America, just yawn, get comfy and say "MMM someone should do something about that!" Damn right! And that someone is...us...go vote in the election to put decent people to work serving you and I and our American Constitution! The political winds are blowing!!....
