I was raised in a German Lutheran family...a very strict German Lutheran family. You will go to church every Sunday...(the early service at 8AM!), you WILL go to every Lenten service, every Advent service...EVERY SERVICE! You will go to every Catechism class and you will learn every Bible passage...YOU WILL...you WILL on and on. I admit I got burned out on going to church. Like most "Know everything at 18", while I was in college I never went to church, I NEVER read my Bible and I never thought about God...well hardly...NEVER. Years went by and here I am in Idaho, married and "sometimes" go to church to I guess, put in an appearance. More years go by, plane crash, more accidents, not living the happiest or best of lifestyles and then one day...BLAM!!...God took a "hotshot" to my heart. I literally stopped overnight a lot of the bad, stupid things I had grown accustomed to and started a S L O W process of being...better. Oh, I admit the "ole ways" were hard to "unsaddle" but I was gaining. WE started to go to church on a regular basis, and pray together and talk about God and our blessings...WHOA!...a big change from the old Zeb! I was looking forward to going to church, I made time every morning to read the Bible and took a lot of time (I needed it!) for prayer. Now, it goes without saying, I still have a lot of "holes in my screen door", but I feel better and I'm living better! I write this on Easter weekend, I know Jesus gave his life for me to be saved and with my faith in Him have eternal life...I know this now at 70 when it was pounded into my head at 16!...learn fast don't I! I urge you to "stop and drop" to your knees this weekend and thank God for all that you have and NOT for what you want! Happy Easter to all of you and now I'm glad I was raised in a German Lutheran family...it just took me a while to gather up the reins....

Don't forget Dr-History.com! Exciting episodes of the old West!!
