There is always... "that chair!"...Many, many times in my life, I've been in and out of hospitals. Polio, plane crash, horse accidents, surgeries, boat accident, broken knee, broken hip, okay, okay enough! Very seldom have I had to sit in "that chair". I'm referring to "that chair" located by every bed in every hospital throughout all the world...the one lonely chair. The person that sits in "that chair" will be filled with worry and anxiety and at the same time, praying for optimism and hope. For all the times I've been injured or had surgery, there's been many of my loved ones in "that chair". My mother spent countless hours by my bedside in "that chair", praying for a son that's trying hard to fight back against polio. My beloved wife, Deanne, sat for days and nights in "that chair" holding my hand and helping me get through a deadly airplane crash. My angel of hope, has been there in "that chair" for every one of my "healing" procedures, always with a smile on her face, giving me confidence. Lately the roll has reversed itself and I'm the one that's sitting in "that chair". My patience, which is little at best, my faith, which is growing stronger each day, have had real battles while I sit in "that chair". I mean this more than ever, I'd trade places in a heartbeat to be the patient, rather than worry and fret about my beloved wife as I sit in "that chair". Once you've sat in "that chair" you'll know what I mean. Your love, your caring and yet feeling so helpless while sitting in "that chair" is overwhelming. Deanne is home now and we pray, on the road to a more level medical status we can trust. We both know and realize there will always be "that chair" waiting for us in the future. So I say to you and mean it also for meENJOY every day and live every day, and don't worry about "that chair"...it's not going anywhere.
