Everyone thinks their county fair is the best...they're probably right. Their county fair has the best food...their county fair has the best livestock, produce and special events. Their county fair has the best 4-H and FFA kids, and their county fair has the best rodeo, horse races or tractor pulls. They take pride in what they put together for four days a year to announce to all "We've got the BEST darn county fair in the state – no brag – just fact!!" God Bless em'! Rural people, farmers and ranchers, 4-Hers, Moms and Dads boasting a collective pride in their part of America! WE NEED MORE OF IT...soon! Does it put a burr under your saddle like it does mine to hear politicians, pundits, athletes and so called movie stars continually hack and jab away at the country that feeds them, protects them and pays them. ANYONE, anywhere in the U.S. can be what they want to be if they put forth the effort and drive to succeed … ANYONE! I don't care what color your skin is, where you were raised or if your great grandparents were Wells Fargo Road Agents – YOU – can be anything! "Country Folks" are so much more advanced in knowing and understanding the value of a good day's work to achieve a future goal. They get up everyday with a purpose and a vision as to what needs to be done and how to accomplish the job...but listen...really listen to the muscle bound, empty headed black "jocks" (and whites, too) that disrespect our Country ---what do they want?? They don't know. They scream "inequality" as they cash their weekly game checks for $83,000!!! "Actors" that don't know shaving cream from bird seed, telling ME NOT to drive to town...I'm contributing to climate change, as they fly to the Bahamas on vacation. All these "lug nuts" need to step into a "time machine" and when the doors open – they have to fend for and feed themselves. If that could happen, I believe there would be a new found respect not only for this great land but also a reincarnation of a work ethic that is almost dead. It takes work to grow crops, it takes work to raise livestock and it takes pride to be the best you CAN be! Go to a county fair and see the real America before its gone forever! I'm proud to be "Country", when you shake my hand there may be a lil' dirt under my finger nails and callouses on my palms, but I'll give you a grip of honesty and friendship just like most rural folks at their county fair!
