I had a birthday this past week...whoa Nellie!....I'm getting "PATRIARCHAL". I woke up to the alarm on Tuesday, October 2nd and realized I'm now 71 years old! I jumped out of bed and ran to the bathroom to look in the mirror...yup, I'm still here!! For a few minutes, I questioned the year of my birth (had to be some mistake, maybe 1974 instead of 1947!) but that wouldn't hold water...it's a fact....71! Okay, so now what? My lovely bride of 47 years helped me answer that question. I'm NOT going to change or alter one darn thing. I'm going to keep my 4 day a week workout schedule (that would put some of the young guns on the rug!) AND I'm going to set new and higher goals for me and my business. "Why don't you just retire and take it easy?"...a friend asked...it sounds good at first but after a little thought I said "Nope, I've got too much to contribute and I'm not ready to die!" I've seen too many people "retire" and shortly they're in a box and having dirt thrown in their face! Not YET! My radio program is one of the best in the country and I'm darn good at what I do – no brag – just fact. I still have a sharp mind and wit and NO youthful "genius" can back me into a corner. I still have a good, strong voice and will continue to use it to condemn the "wrong and perverted" in our society. I will never "back off" from using the 1st Amendment as it was intended to inform and to publicize WHAT is happening in our society – if someone doesn't like that – turn the dial! I'm going to keep on riding and roping – and 4 wheeling and occasionally....have a beer! I have a wonderful loving wife (sooo much younger...4 1/2 years) and she gives me the optimism and sometimes the anger to persevere! Quit and sit?...quit and do nothing...quit and ...die? Not me. Let's go find a mountain to ride over, or a pen of steers to go rope but I won't visit with you about burial plots. I've got way too much living to do! I had a birthday last week... WHOA NELLIE!

Don't forget Dr-History.com! Exciting episodes of the old West!!
