Prayers and promises for 2019.....this week's "Cowpies" is not going to criticize anyone or anything, its NOT going to find "funny" in any situation or, talk about party politics, there's a time and a place...THIS isn't it. I am going to issue a heartfelt prayer for all of us...all of us to try to be better, more caring and above all, thank God for what we have not what we want in 2019. My prayer for you is one of good health, wise decisions and safety for the next turn of the calender year. Life brings in a newborn with wrinkled skin and a loud wailing voice and life takes away the elderly with wrinkled skin and silence...that is life. At my old age, I'm learning everyday certain things I should have realized years ago, but some of us (ME!) realize almost too late, the wonders of a kind word, a gentle touch and a gesture of kindness and friendship. I've gone through most of my life like it was the 4th quarter and there's 45 seconds left and my teams behind by 5 points!...always in a hurry, always in a rush! My son, Jake, was born on the 4th of July and with my announcing career, I was never home on his birthday until he was 31!! Deanne and I went over 29 years of never being together on our anniversary...yes...I was on the road. The reason for telling you this is also part of my prayer for you...take your foot off the gas once in awhile...tap the brakes and enjoy what you are missing!! As for my promise...I promise to you that I will provide my listeners the best in programming and guests for 2019. I may take a little time off on occasion and with the help of Sharon and Gina as hosts of my show...it won't miss a beat! Let's challenge each other to be better, and enjoy each other more in the upcoming year...and WOW!...what a great year it CAN be! God bless all of you...
