What is your purpose??...Have you ever thought about it? Really...what is your purpose? The dictionary defines the word "purpose" as "something one intends to get or do" and "with a specific end in view"...MMMM....let's mull that over. I remember back into my high school days I had a science teacher that used the word "purpose" in almost every sentence. "The purpose for doing this...the purpose of this exam...the purpose of this study" on and on, he loved that word. But NOW at 71 years of age, the word really means something to me. I believe that God had a "purpose" for me to have polio, a plane crash, and all the numerous "wrecks" I've endured. I'm not bitter, but sometimes I admit, I am a little frustrated with thoughts of "Why me Lord?" Aah, but here comes "purpose" again. Every single happening in my life has "adjusted the dial" so to speak, and provided me with a course correction and a new evaluation of "what" I should do. Polio made me tougher and more resilient, the plane crash made me more aware of the real aspects of life. All of the horse and other accidents really "lined" me out on a better course...they had a "purpose". After high school, I had ZERO, nothing, no goals, no ambitions, I was a blob of flesh on the radar screen of futility. Then God directed my life to the broadcast industry and then...sometimes in a maze...I developed other aspects of my talents, I had a "purpose" for rodeo announcing, talk show host and public speaker. Everyone has a "purpose", everyone has an avenue they need to travel on and try to be successful. I honestly feel sorry for people that don't understand or know their "purpose". Sit down today, alone, and just reflect on your life and what you do and see if it's really your "purpose"....it's never too late to change!
