Our flag rippled in the soft breeze and the bright September sun enhanced the colors of red, white and blue. What a wonderful day of patriotism at the Rupert Square on Friday afternoon. Over 400 5th graders from schools in Minidoka County were bused to the Square to be a part of learning, appreciation and respecting OUR flag. George Maas, David Fairchild, Senator Kelly Anthon and many others helped to create this outstanding love of country event. I was asked to be the Master of Ceremonies, AND, I'm not ashamed to admit that when I looked into the sea of young faces with a look of "wow" and "tell me more" in their eyes...I knew then there is hope for America's future! These 5th graders never moved, never whispered, never became rambunctious like healthy 10 year olds are prone to do. No, they sat there and absorbed the moment,...the short speeches and readings, and the solemn proper retirement of one of our flags tattered from weather but proud to have soared over OUR land! This was an event that all ages, all schools and yes, even us "know it all" adults should attend in the future, it was love and pride in our Country at its best. Today, there are so many that snipe and cut away at the fabric that holds this great Country together, our United Sates Flag. But on this day, there were no negatives, no dividing thoughts...NONE...all of us, over 500 strong, stood in unity with patriotism and love for the Good Ole' USA!
God Bless America!

Don't forget Dr-History.com! Exciting episodes of the old West!!
Now in 110 countries...110!! And not one of them
have said they're offended!

Our Pledge of Allegiance:
I pledge Allegiance to the flag
of the United States of America
and to the Republic for which it stands,
one nation under God, indivisible,
with Liberty and Justice for all.

Dear Lord: Please Bless and heal this land with your grace and power.
Help us to realize YOU are in charge as you were, as you are now and like
you'll be in the future. Forgive us for "straying off the trail" of what's right
and what's wrong and help us to appreciate what you've blessed us with,
the greatest Country in the world...America!
In Jesus Name.....Amen
