"On the day after Christmas, my true love gave to me".... "all the receipts and many wrong sizes...oh what happy Joviality!!!" Yup...back to the caverns of credit cards and cash registers, of "picked over" items NOW on sale and employees that look haggard and forlorn! No more cheerful Christmas music to make me happily appreciate over-extending my charge card... NOW the store sound system just said "cleanup on Aisle 7". And...after all the "exchanges" we spent a couple of hundred dollars more!!...they claim that they were out of those particular items!!!...Yeah Right! At one store, I bumped into an old cowboy friend of mine and both of us agreed that WE were "2 ducks out of the pond" and had no business being there! If I need a shirt, I go buy a shirt, if I need some Wranglers, no problems...get em'! I go in, I buy, I go home! However, every piece of clothing I bought for Deanne, a new jogging outfit, a new blouse, a new jacket – all wrong size!! And when we got back to the store NONE of those items existed, they had left the building like Elvis – poof! Gone but, replaced with higher priced clothing - - it's a gimmick!!! When we got home, we had more bags of "whatever" than we had on the original Christmas trip!! Shopping...it's absolutely dangerous to the health of marriages and there should be a warning sign on every store door that says "enter at your risk of creating high blood pressure and possible irreparable marriage deterioration! ...shopping is a known source of obtaining stress, shingles and a nervous twitch!! I'm doomed...I'm starting to see the signs of all 3!!.....Happy New Year!!!!
