Count your blessings...count your friends. I've been blessed with both, and the older I get the more I savor the memories, the blessings and friends, "good got your back" friends. A "friend" is described as someone who is on the same side in a struggle and is helpful and reliable...yes, I've had many of those "friends". I tried to make a list, and I'm positive I've left some out that deserve recognition, but here are a few: Ole' Roger was my best friend in grade school and I'll NEVER forget playing football against him and the "block" he put on me that made me realize I wasn't as tough as I thought I was...my high school buddy Ron, along with his uncle built up and "prettified" a '55 Chevy with a 357 engine that could fly! (speeding tickets proof!) My college roommate Joe, the real "Italian Stallion", greatest friend in any situation and mobbed by every girl in Minneapolis! My first team roping partner Norm, we learned how to rope together in 1970 and "when and if" we caught our steer, you'd have thought we had won the NFR! Another team roping partner, Dave, a great example of a caring Christian, a man that I truly respect and appreciate. Nate, better known as "Willie Nelson", a true friend that "babysat" me through the hard times of Deanne in critical condition in the hospital. Rocky, what can you say about a man that definitely is not a follower, he beats his drum to his music, but what a friend to drop everything and be there! Then of course and absolutely....Deanne. I fear the thoughts of not having her as my wife and friend, she has lifted me up from some of the toughest, most painful injuries and always holding my hand with hope. And...Jesus. Some folks think I'm getting too "Churchy" but that's okay..Jesus has been my friend that has been there in the dark, sinful times and has smiled with me in the sunshine. Sit down for a minute today and count your blessings and your friends...I believe you'll be amazed as to how blessed you REALLY are!

God Bless
