You can trade for a new car, you can sell your home and move somewhere else, you can buy new clothes and give the old garments to "Good Will"...but you're stuck with one body...ONE...that was created by God. Now, you may not like what I'm about to say and you may think its ego-driven...but it's the truth. I was a bright eyed, run all over, get into tons of mischief 5-year-old when I came down with polio. BAM! One day a holy terror, the next paralyzed from the chest down. My little body had taken on a deadly virus and I was losing the fight. Polio was devastating to my parents, our entire family and destroyed a normal, happy childhood for me. My life was consumed 24-7 with medicine, physical therapy, hydrotherapy, braces, crutches, and so many surgeries. My body was now operating at below 50% and the future looked pretty bleak. However, an angel came into my life, her name was Jeanette Wolfgram and she would not let my body quit and she would not let me get "down in the dumps". She drove me to more exercise, do more of everything from walking with the braces and crutches, to literally knocking me down on mats, so I could learn how to get up again. She was tough - very tough - but she helped me with my attitude of what my body could do – not what it couldn't do. She installed in me a "never quit – never give up" attitude that I still have today! Why am I telling you all of this? Like I said earlier, God gave us one body for our time on earth and we should embrace what we are and do the best we can to take care of our human shell. To those that hate their bodies or think pervertedly, that God made a mistake with your gender, I pity you. At 73, my old body's really crippled up and stiff and sore...but I'm doggone proud of what I've done with the body God gave me. Maybe that's the genius of it, teaching us to make do with what we have instead of complaining about what you want! Look in the mirror and THANK GOD for what you see.
God Bless
